The increase in the national threat level in response to international events has refocused minds on the nature and scale of the challenge from terrorism. However, the old adage that the terrorist has to be successful only once to have the desired effect while the authorities have to be successful all of the time in defeating the threat still holds true. It is therefore timely in advance of a national Counter-Terrorism Awareness Campaign that businesses in London hear the strategic and operational overview from the police, as well as the protective measures that businesses should apply in response to the challenge.
Chairman: Sir David Veness CBE QPM, Chairman Security & Resilience Advisory Board, London First
Key-note Speaker: Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley QPM, Specialist Operations, Metropolitan Police
Other Speakers:
Chief Inspector Anthony Bennett, SO20 Counter-Terrorism Protective Security, Metropolitan Police
Counter-Terrorism Security Adviser Paul White, Metropolitan Police
